The possibility of applying hologram technology in the Egyptian tourism sector

Holography is considered one of the modern technologies, and some have called it "the mind-blowing technology," in addition to its advantages and benefits, which include saving time and effort and increasing knowledge and absorptive capacity. Therefore, this study aims to determine how much this technology can be applied in the Egyptian tourism sector. It also seeks to identify the nature of hologram technology and its various aspects, in addition to studying the requirements for applying this technology in the Egyptian tourism sector, as well as studying the obstacles facing its application in the Egyptian tourism sector. To achieve the study objectives, 413 survey forms were distributed to an appropriate sample of faculty members in tourism and hotel colleges and institutes at Egyptian universities, in addition to workers in tourism facilities and institutions such as hotels, tourism companies, airlines, tourist and archaeological sites, and tourism information technology. (10) Interviews were conducted with managers of tourism companies, airlines, hotels, and some government agencies affiliated with the Ministry of Antiquities and the Ministry of Tourism, as well as some academics. The study results highlighted that the requirements for applying hologram technology in the Egyptian tourism sector are: The availability of the necessary infrastructure for the application, such as wireless networks and devices for displaying content Providing high-quality 3D interactive content, in addition to the operational requirements that vary from one type to another. Tourism sector workers must also be trained to use this technology correctly and effectively. The most significant obstacles and challenges facing the implementation of this technology in the Egyptian tourism sector were: Lack of awareness and willingness to use hologram technology, whether among tourists regarding the benefits they will gain from implementing this technology in the Egyptian tourism sector or the lack of awareness among officials and tourism experts of the role and importance of hologram technology in the Egyptian tourism sector and how to apply it, which affects its adoption and implementation. The obstacle and challenge are the lack of sufficient experience in implementing hologram technology in the Egyptian tourism sector. The most significant benefits to the Egyptian tourism sector are: Employing modern technologies in the Egyptian tourism sector, as well as acquiring new cognitive and perceptual skills. It is also considered a modern tourism attraction tool. The advantages that tourists will gain from its implementation include: - The ability for tourists to communicate with their friends and relatives face-to-face. Hologram technology also helps provide them with accurate information they need. In addition to preventing boredom for tourists and encouraging them to extend their stay, the study concluded that officials, managers, and experts in the fields of tourism and technology must respond to all new developments in tourism technologies, be aware of these technologies, and work to implement them in the tourism sector. Hologram technology is also considered a modern and essential technology in the Egyptian tourism sector due to its numerous benefits, and it can be used in the tourism sector with complete flexibility and effectiveness.
