The Mediating Role of Strategic Agility in the Relationship between Strategic Leadership and Competitive Advantage in Five-star Hotels in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia

Abstract

Applying the strategic leadership style in organizations has become a necessity, especially in light of the changes and major fluctuations in the work environment, which have imposed many challenges on these organizations, and impact on their competitive advantage. This study aims to explore the mediating role of strategic agility in the relationship between strategic leadership and competitive advantage. To achieve the aim of the study, the researcher distributed 470 questionnaires to a random sample of workers in five-star hotels in Makkah Al-Mukarramah, and 412 questionnaires were valid for analysis using SPSS V.25 and AMOS V.24. The results concluded that strategic leadership affects both significantly and positively the strategic agility and competitive advantage. Strategic agility also affects significantly and positively the competitive advantage. The results also found that strategic agility plays a partial mediating role in the relationship between strategic leadership and competitive advantage in five-star hotels in Makkah Al-Mukarramah.
