Measuring Job Satisfaction of Employees in Egyptian Hotel Institutions: Analytical Study

Abstract

Coping with the rapid developments of the external environment and with the increased competition is extremely important for every institution at present time, to take the best methods for managing its affairs and caring for the human element through studying its behaviors and attitudes about working conditions. The research aims to deepen the level of understanding of employees̕ job satisfaction in hotel institutions. It also aims to clarify the concept of job satisfaction, its importance, and indicators of employees̕ dissatisfaction, its types and methods of measuring it. The study community consists of the employees in five-star hotels in Cairo. 400 forms were distributed among the employees in (21) hotels, 359 forms were valid for analysis, and 41 invalid forms were excluded. The study recommended strengthening and improving the relationship between management and employees to contribute to the development of the individual and the hotel. It should stress a culture of spreading love and affection among workers, and achieving the principle of internal justice of wages. Also, hotels management should encourage opportunities for self-development for their employees and motivate them to improve their educational capabilities and experience and to develop training programs to develop their skills to increase their satisfaction.
