The Role of Organizational Power as a Mediator in the Relationship between Transformational Leadership and Organizational Effectiveness: An Applied Study on Five Star Hotels in Sharm El-Sheikh

Abstract

The study aims to identify the relationship between transformational leadership in the five-star hotels in Sharm El Sheikh and organizational effectiveness in light of the organizational power as a mediator. To achieve the objective of the study, the analytical method was used, and a questionnaire was designed to collect the study data. The study population was the directors of the five-star hotel management in Sharm el-Sheikh. A total of 280 survey forms were distributed as a convenience sample. The number of valid forms was 227, with a response rate of 81.1%. Three statistical programs were used to analyze the study data: IRTPRO, SPSS V.25 and SAS V.9.1. The study has reached several results, the most important of which is that there is a significant and positive effect of transformational leadership on both organizational effectiveness and organizational power. There is also a significant and positive effect of organizational power on organizational effectiveness. Additionally, the study found that the organizational power plays mediating role in the relationship between transformational leadership and organizational effectiveness in five-star hotels in Sharm El-Sheikh
