The feasibility of joining the hotel specialization in the faculties of tourism and hotels

Abstract

The study aims to measure the feasibility of joining the hotel department in the faculties of tourism and hotels. To that end, a questionnaire was designed that contains: the personal data of the study sample members, the phenomenon of low acceptance rate for faculties of tourism and hotels in the coordination of high school, and how to address these reasons, and the reasons for the low level of those enrolled in the hotel department in the faculties of tourism and hotels, and proposals to overcome these reasons. The questionnaire was distributed to a random sample of faculty members and supporting staff in the faculties of tourism and hotels. Statistical measures were used, including Cronbach's alpha, Kolmegrove-Simernov, arithmetic mean, and regression analysis. The results of the study showed: that the tourism and hospitality sector is one of the economic sectors that is highly affected by the surrounding events. The students believe that working in the foodservice is a substandard business. This is one of the most important reasons for the low level of enrollment in the hotel division. One of the important suggestions to address this phenomenon is by formulating a law that prohibits non-specialists from working in the tourism and hotel field.  The study presented a set of recommendations, including the necessity of instilling the great values ​​of the hospitality industry in the minds of students of pre-university education, emphasizing that it is the work of prophets and greats throughout history and that the hotel staff members correct all misconceptions about the hospitality industry and provide a correct image of these The industry in all its aspects, and for the concerned authorities to formulate a strategic plan to promote domestic tourism; To face crises that negatively affect incoming tourism.
