The role of information technology in clinical nutrition programs in Egyptian university hospitals

Abstract

There is no doubt that information technology is one of the most important challenges facing therapeutic feeding programs in light of the increase in the number of users of medical and health applications specialized in nutritional care, which is considered one of the most important modern trends that contribute to the prevention or cure of diseases and its importance is no less than surgical treatment or Medication In light of the high rate of treatment expenses, and the increase in the spread of diseases transmitted through food, the research aims to enhance the role of information technology in therapeutic nutrition programs, and the researcher used the descriptive analytical approach, where the study population consists of doctors, patients and their number (310), and was chosen Of them, a random sample of size 140 was using the version26 program (SPSS), and 128 were recovered with a recovery rate of 91%, the results of the study found that there is a role for information technology in improving the level of therapeutic feeding services, and that electronic monitoring contributed to increasing awareness about improving the level of nutritional meals provided, which contribute to the recovery of patients who are residents or frequenting the outpatient clinics of university hospitals.
