The role of clinical nutrition in improving the level of medical services in university hospitals in the light of planning and development

Abstract

The study aims to enhance the role of therapeutic nutrition in improving the level of medical services provided in university hospitals. In preparing the study, the researcher relied on the random sample and questionnaires as a study tool. A number of (98) questionnaires were distributed to workers in the kitchens of Egyptian university hospitals. The validity and reliability of the study were measured depending on The Alpha Kernbach scale, and the (SPSS Version26) program was used in the analysis of the statistical data on the results of the study, and the most important results of the study concluded that most of the resident patients do not eat their meals completely, depending on additional meals from visitors that are not recommended by the Department of Therapeutic Nutrition, and this is considered one of the most important factors that lead to an increase in the proportion of the remainder. This negatively affects the medical services provided because some diets do not suit the disease of the case, the study recommends the coordination between doctors, nutritionists, and kitchen workers about implementing therapeutic feeding programs according to the nutritional needs that contribute to treatment, by planning food menus with high nutritional value. Promote patient selection to improve the level of medical services provided considering planning, sustainable development, and Egypt Vision 2030.
