Abstract

The study aims to compare the commitment of four and five-star hotels in greater Cairo towards stakeholders, by identifying and analyzing the application of the standard of recognition of stakeholder rights and ensuring an effective governance basis and framework as two important criteria developed by the Organization of Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD) for the corporate governance system. The study sample community is represented in the 53 four-and-five-star hotels in Greater Cairo, where they have all been targeted and confined to a comprehensive inventory. The sample for statistical analysis was 46 hotels. Since the category of stakeholders is a random sample in an unlimited society, more than 406 researches have been targeted. The main results of the study were represented in the high commitment of five-star than four-star hotels to governance standards towards stakeholders, as well as the need to further activate the community role of the hotel establishments, as well as to announce their non-commercial objectives. The study proposed some new principles of hotel corporate governance system that are consistent with the administrative nature of Egyptian hotel facilities and the latest global trends.
