Developing State-Owned Hotels by Using SWOT Analysis: A Case Study on Mansoura University Hotel

Abstract

Governmental hotels also called State-Owned hotels in Egypt are facing lots of obstacles i.e., weakness of financial funds, complicated procedures related to administrative and organizational issues, and so on of challenges that hamper their operation and development.   Furthermore, a lack of studies conducted on this type of hotel. In this respect, the current study is a trial to develop governmental hotels by using SWOT Analysis through evaluating their services and facilities. The study was chosen Mansoura University hotel as an example of these hotels, to analyze the Strengths, Weaknesses, Opportunities, and Threats of the selected hotel. The study was used qualitative and descriptive Analysis through SWOT Analysis Model to explore the research objective. The study provides certain recommendations for responsible authorities for helping in dealing with such problems are facing governmental hotels, and at the same time to enhance and develop their services and facilities and increase occupancy percent in these hotels.
