Sustainable Tourism Development: The role of the country in the development of the new city of El Alamein

Abstract

This research paper has shed light on the new city of El Alamein to identify the efforts of the country in achieving tourism development in addition to the plan followed by the government to develop the new city of El Alamein sustainable tourism development and the elimination of seasonality in the entire northwest coast region in addition to ascertaining the feasibility of steps. In addition to making sure of the feasibility of the steps followed by the government for the development of the city, comparing these steps with the strategy of tourism development of the country and identifying the experiences of some successful countries in achieving tourism development and than comparing their findings with the Egyptian experience in the development of the new city El Alamein to ensure the extent of feasibility steps to be followed by the country. 248 questionnaires was distributed among academics in the whole Institutes, tourism and hotels' experts from the Ministry of Tourism and Tourism Promotion authority to find out their opinions in the efforts that had been undertaken by the Egyptian country recently to achieve tourism development, in addition to the most important steps that must be followed by the country to achieve a successful tourism development in the new city of El Alamein and even in the entire north-west coast are to eliminate the seasonality in the region. The research has reached a set of results, perhaps the most important is to reach the most important steps that the Egyptian government should follow to achieve sustainable and integrated tourism development in the new city of El Alamein. A number of recommendations have been proposed to contribute to achieve sustainable and successful tourism development in the Egyptian country.
