Abstract

The research aims to shed light on the alimony in light of the Arabic papyrus, which is considered one of the most important social rights that women have obtained in Islamic Egypt, since the first Islamic centuries. The Arab papyri received documents showing and explaining to us the alimony of women and their children in Islamic Egypt. Where was paid to the woman and her children, whether she was divorced, her husband abandoned her, or he traveled, and these documents were specified for a specific period for the alimony, and the husband’s guardian paid it, and witnesses attested to that, and the woman wrote that she had received this alimony, and thus innocence to the husband’s will to do, so This shows us the Islamic administration’s keenness to preserve the rights of the spouses and their children and not be affected by any marital disputes that would harm the woman and her children, since the first Islamic centuries in Egypt, and we will study and analyze the value of alimony paid to the wife and children with commentary on papyri published for the first time.
