Developing tourism awareness among children and youth in the basic education stages

Abstract

The development of tourism awareness is one of the necessities of sustainable tourism development which enables countries to face competition in the international tourism market. Therefore, raising and developing tourism awareness among young people in basic education schools in its various stages must be an essential part of the state’s plan for tourism, economic and social development, where it works On the development of domestic tourism, the preservation of tourist sites and tourism heritage, and the good treatment of tourists by the host community, Which improves the mental image of the country abroad.  Accordingly, the aim of the research is to shed light on the role of educational institutions in the stages of basic education, to raise tourism awareness among young people and the level of culture, and tourism awareness among teachers, and their ability to teach tourism development courses, due to the critical importance of the teacher in the educational process. Accordingly, the descriptive analytical approach was used through survey forms distributed to specialists and experts in the educational process in the Ministry of Education and some government, private and international schools in the various stages of basic education. It also helps increase their historical, geographical, scientific, artistic and literary information. It works to develop the spirit of national belonging and preserving the Egyptian identity.
