The Role of Strategic Planning in achieving Organizational Excellence: Field Study of Egyptian Tourist Companies

Abstract

The study examines the relationship between strategic planning andorganizational  excellence in tourism companies on the ground and to what extent strategic planning plays a role in achieving theorganizational  excellence of the tourism companies under study. The research problem is based on the following question: To what extent does strategic planning play a role in achievingorganizational  excellence in the tourism companies in question? The study relied on designing a questionnaire that contains questions applied to the respondents in order to reveal the relationship and the impact of strategic planning on achieving organizational excellence In the companies under study. The form will be measured through the Statistical Package for Social Science (SPSS) program, and the use of appropriate statistical tests to provide valuable indications and indicators to support the study.
The study showed the extent of strategic planning in the sample study companies. As it turned out, the five areas of strategic planning found in the tourism companies studied very strongly, yet the five areas did not exist as strongly. It has become clear that organizational  excellence exists in the tourism companies that are studied. The study concluded that there is a statistically significant relationship between the strategic planning and the organizational  excellence of the study sample of the tourism companies in category A, which results in a distinction in the overall performance, which is reflected in their profitability, market share and attractiveness rates for employment.
