Abstract
Tourism has become a basic social need as well as an important factor for economic growth and job creation. It can be said that tourism is a right for all individuals in society, and it is also a right for individuals with autism and a good tool that can be used to improve their quality of life and leisure by participating in various tourism activities and trips. Using data collected from (397) employees in travel agencies (category A) operating in Egypt, in addition to conducting a series of semi-structured interviews with families of autistic children, specialists in the field of autism, and experts and directors of tourism companies. The results of the study have determined a set of requirements necessary to promote accessible tourism in the Egyptian tourism destination, related to marketing and information, human resources, collective facilities, and facilitation and service facilities. The results also revealed a set of challenges facing the promotion of accessible tourism, the most important of which is the culture of some individuals in dealing with children with autism; Either by not accepting their presence or not having their own tourism programs, the high costs of services and facilities provided to them and their families. The findings have important implications for both the research community, tourism destinations and tourism companies.
