The Effect of Impression Management on Organizational Support of Employees in Travel Agencies

Abstract

The study aims to identify the impression management behaviors adopted by the Egyptian travel agencies, measuring the organizational support of employees in travel agencies and identifying the relationship between the impression management behavior and organizational support in travel agencies. Also provides some recommendations and new suggestions in the field of human resources in the tourism sector, especially with regard to the impression management behavior and the impact on the improvement of different job attitude within the travel agent. The results of the study indicate that the employees of the Egyptian travel agencies adopt the different impression management behaviors such as Ingratiation, Exemplification, Intimidation, Self-promotion, supplication.  The study also indicates that there is a significant correlation between the impression management behavior and the organizational support of the employees of the Egyptian travel agencies. Finally, a number of recommendations were consider the managers of the Egyptian travel agencies should pay attention to the different behaviors and attitudes employed by the employees because they are of great importance in influencing the different organizational support of the company from the support and self-Promotion of the employees and their support, as well as their participation in making decisions and organizational support by delegating authority which results in their satisfaction with work .
