A proposed framework for the development of the city of Rosetta in terms of tourism and archaeology

Abstract

Administratively, the city of Rosetta belongs to the Beheira Governorate, 65 km from the Alexandria Governorate, and 55 km from the city of Damanhour, the capital of the Beheira. To make it an important tourist destination among the Egyptian tourist destinations, and the research also aims to get to know the city of Rosetta, which contains many archaeological sites and elements of tourist attractions that make this city overlooking the Mediterranean Sea a world tourist city of first class, where the Rosetta National Museum and Tal Abu Mandour, And Rashid Castle and the ancient houses such as the house of Arabs Klee, the house of Al-Amsaili, the house of Ramadan, the house of Alwan, the house of Al-Mizuni and many mosques Archaeological sites such as Al-Abbas Mosque, Zaghloul Mosque, Ali Al-Muhalla, etc., Shaheen Mill, Azouz Bath, in addition to public gardens and parks. The questionnaire is relied upon to collect data using the descriptive analytical approach. The forms were distributed to experts and officials in the Egyptian Tourism Promotion Authority, the Ministry of Tourism, and the Tourism Development Authority. The results of the study concluded that Poor level of infrastructure services (water, electricity and sanitation), lack of communication networks (internet, phones, etc.), weakness in health services (ambulance points). Rashid, full security control of the area to protect its antiquities From tampering, neglect and continuous encroachment from street vendors, removing encroachments from the streets of ancient houses and tightening laws to prevent their recurrence, and restoring the civilized view of the archaeological area by removing waste and encroachments
