The relationship between value-based leadership and job performance of Egyptian hotel employees: An applied study

Abstract

The current research aims to identify the nature of the relationship between leadership by values among managers and supervisors of food and beverage departments in five-star hotels in Egypt and the level of job performance of employees in these departments, to achieve this goal, several sub-goals emerged, namely identifying the components of the value-based leadership approach and providing a useful model to enhance the leadership approach in the field of management in hotels, as well as identifying the degree of practicing value-based leadership among managers and supervisors of food and beverage departments in five-star hotels in Greater Cairo in Egypt. To achieve this goal, a survey form was designed For employees, a random sample of the study population in five-star hotels in Greater Cairo was distributed to the study sample, which numbered (10) hotels. (413) questionnaires were analyzed on a random sample of workers in the food and beverage department of the hotels under study, to identify the opinions of employees. The study showed that the value-based leadership style has an important and positive impact on the employee's performance, so it can be said that the value-based leadership style is something that can arouse the interest of employees. The leader will explain the role of his employees and increase their motivation to work so that it can affect performance. Value-based leadership on the employee's performance, the results showed that the value-based leadership style achieves an important and positive effect on the employee's performance in the study sample hotels, which means that the value-based leadership style is one of the important variables that can improve employee performance.
