The effectiveness of the role of tourism and hotel education institutions in promoting the position of alcoholic beverages in the hospitality industry

Abstract

This research aims to activate the role of tourism and hotel education institutions in promoting and supporting the position of alcoholic beverages in the hospitality industry, by answering three questions on which this study is based, namely: Will emphasize the role of alcoholic beverages in increasing profitability lead to an increase in the number of service outlets for these beverages and enhance the desire for resources? Will the support of the alcoholic beverages sector in the hospitality industry lead to an increase in the number of production facilities for these beverages? Will strengthen the alcoholic beverages sector in the Egyptian market work on the growth of industries related to the production and service of these beverages? To reach this goal, a questionnaire was designed that includes four parts: the characteristics of the sample, exploring the most important points of failure of hotel education institutions towards alcoholic beverages, methods of supporting hotel education institutions for alcoholic beverages on all their axes (the axis of alcoholic beverage production - the axis of serving alcoholic beverages - the axis of industries related to the production of the service of alcoholic beverages), the results of the sample’s answers to the study’s questions. The questionnaire was distributed to a random sample of 466 members in tourism and hotel education institutions from hotel technical schools, institutes of tourism and hotels (middle and higher), and colleges of tourism and hotels. One of the results of the research was: There is a direct relationship between the support of tourism and hotel education institutions for alcoholic beverages and the increase in the number of outlets for the sale and service of alcoholic beverages and the enhancement of the desire for qualified human resources to work in these outlets, as well as the existence of a direct relationship between the support of the tourism and hotel education institutions for the alcoholic beverage sector and the increase in the number of production facilities Alcoholic beverages and the provision of human resources to work in these facilities. The study reached several recommendations, including: containing the regulations of educational institutions tourists, and hotels on specialized courses in the alcoholic beverages sector, guiding the media to show the correct and positive image of sale and service about the economic benefits resulting from the production and service of alcoholic beverages, making the alcoholic beverages sector one of the main axes in employment forums organized by tourism and hotel education institutions, motivating faculty members in tourism and hotel education institutions to conduct studies that address the challenges facing the alcoholic beverages sector from both sides production and service, that the institutions concerned with the state address the restrictions and obstacles that prevent the manufacture of alcoholic beverages and its proper development, And directing all segments of society towards respect for public and personal freedoms, ideological pluralism, and acceptance of others.
