Abstract

The cemetery of Badi Harkhaib No. 8 is one of the most important archaeological sites of the continent of Sheikh Subi, which is located in the city of Bawiti, the center of the Bahariya Oasis. This cemetery was discovered in 2002 AD, and this research aims to introduce researchers to the Badi Harkhaib cemetery No. 8 and to shed light on the method of its discovery, its architectural planning and its history. The study concluded that the cemetery dates back to the late era, specifically to the Twenty-sixth Al-Sawy Dynasty. As the architecture of the Badi Harkhaib cemetery is in line with what was prevalent in the architecture of rocky tombs in the late era, especially in Bahariya Oasis, and that cemetery was used in subsequent ages, as it was used in the Roman era to bury their dead. The Badi Harkhaib cemetery is similar in its architectural plan to the rock-hewn cemetery of Banantio in the Sawi era.
