The relationship between Leadership and performance results in the faculties of Tourism and Hotels in Egyptian Universities: the mediating role of Human Resource Management

Abstract

Leadership is a key factor for the success of educational institutions, due to the developments and changes witnessed by educational institutions, in addition to the information and communication technology revolution, in a highly changing and competitive world. The role of human resources management in improving performance results in the faculties of tourism and hotels in Egyptian universities. aim instead of goal, 330 survey forms were distributed electronically through social networking sites to faculty members and assistant staff at the faculties of tourism and hotels in Egyptian universities, while the analysis of 294 valid forms was relied upon for analysis. The study concluded that leadership contributes positively to the development and improvement of human resource management in the faculties of tourism and hotels in Egyptian public universities. The leadership also enhances the results of the academic and financial performance in the faculties of tourism and hotels in the Egyptian public universities. The results of the study also showed that there is an impact of leadership on the performance results in the faculties of tourism and hotels in the Egyptian public universities, in the presence of human resources management as a mediating variable. Human resource management also plays an overall mediating role in the relationship between leadership and performance results.
