Al-Baqt Treaty in Nubia in the Light of the Arabic Papyri (A Historical and Documentary Study)

Abstract

This research is a study of the Treaty of Al-Baqt through various historical sources, as it served as a treaty for reconciliation and maintaining peaceful coexistence between Nubia and Egypt, and securing religious and commercial aspects, and highlighting The Terms of the Treaty and the impact of the Treaty of Al-Baqt on relations between the people of Nubia and Egypt and to what extent the people of Nubia adhered to the terms of the treaty in addition to an analytical study of the Arabic papyrus documents related to Al-Baqt through the first papyrus, which is a letter from the Abbasid governor in Egypt to the King of Nubia and returns Its history dates back to the year 141 A.H./ 758 A.D. and is currently in the Nubian Museum in Aswan and the second papyrus is about the Treaty of Al-Baqt and the collection of the abscess.
