The Role of International Legislation and Internal Laws to protect Heritage and Antiquities inside and outside Egypt

Abstract

This research aims to study international and regional organizations in protecting, managing and promoting cultural heritage by focusing on international and regional organizations and bodies working in the field of protecting cultural heritage, and the legislation and laws issued by them. Cultural heritage is considered the inheritance and cornerstone upon which the culture of nations is based in their history and present. It is closely linked to a person’s past, as well as to the reality in which he lives and his future. Human heritage gives every people their identity that distinguishes them from other peoples.
Antiquities also have important scientific value because they are considered the symbol of the glory of nations and the heritage of their ancestors. They are also classified as one of the basic foundations of every country and one of its most precious treasures. Researchers have classified them as being considered a symbol of nations and the reason for their stability and continued existence, which is what made them have value. It has great material and moral value, and constitutes one of the basic pillars of national civilization and culture.
