The Impact of Digital Transformational on Airlines' Performance Post The COVID-19 Pandemic

Abstract

Airline companies face many changes and crises that greatly affect their performance, COVID-19 pandemic is one of the worst crises the aviation sector has experienced in general. This study aims to investigate digital transformation's impact on airline companies' performance after the COVID-19 pandemic. To achieve the study's objective, a questionnaire was designed and distributed to a simple random sample of employees at EgyptAir. The number of valid questionnaires used in the study was 342. One of the study's key findings is that EgyptAir's adoption of digital transformation dimensions leads to improved performance. The study also found that digital transformation impacts airline companies' performance after the COVID-19 pandemic, as digital transformation explains 47% of the changes in organizational performance. One of the important recommendations of the study is the necessity of providing training and education in technology-related fields and enhancing digital skills for airline employees, including training on using digital tools and developing creative thinking and technical solutions.
