Does agile leadership influence strategic entrepreneurship in the tourism and hospitality sector through organizational identification and strategic clarity?

Abstract

Agile leadership plays an effective role in enhancing organizations’ abilities to grow, develop, and excel in the tourism work environment, especially in light of the changes taking place in the work environment, increasing competition, and the efforts of various organizations to achieve leadership and success. In light of this; This study aimed to measure the impact of agile leadership on strategic entrepreneurship, organizational identification, and strategic clarity in travel agencies category A and five-star hotels. The study also aimed to evaluate the impact of organizational identification and strategic clarity on strategic entrepreneurship in these agencies and hotels. The study also aimed to explore the mediating role of organizational identification and strategic clarity in the relationship between agile leadership and strategic entrepreneurship in travel agencies category A and five-star hotels. The study relied on a questionnaire to collect data from the study sample, which represented employees of senior management and middle management in travel agencies category A and five-star hotels in Cairo and Giza governorates. 914 questionnaires were distributed to a random sample of those employees, while only 724 questionnaires were analyzed, with a response rate of 79.2%. To test the study hypotheses; The direct and indirect path analysis method was used through the AMOS V.21. The results highlighted a significant and positive effect of agile leadership on strategic entrepreneurship, organizational identification, and strategic clarity, as well as a significant and positive effect of organizational identification and strategic clarity on strategic entrepreneurship. The results also showed that organizational identification and strategic clarity have a partial mediating role in the relationship between agile leadership and strategic entrepreneurship in travel agencies category A and five-star hotels. The study recommended the importance of travel agencies and hotels continuing to adopt positive leadership styles that encourage innovation, continuous learning, striving for change and development, and adopting flexible organizational structures that respond quickly to changes in the tourism business environment.
