Abstract

Nile tourism played an important role in tourism activity in Egypt at the beginning of the nineteenth century. Nile boats were used as an important means of transporting tourists from Cairo to Upper Egypt under government supervision. The Egyptian government has provided many facilities and services to support Nile cruises, such as providing food, health care and medical services, as well as providing security and safety during the cruise. On the other hand, many tourism companies emerged in the field of Nile tourism beginning in the second half of the nineteenth century, such as: Thomas Cook, which was the pioneer in the field of organizing tourist trips in Egypt beginning in 1872 AD. Many tourism companies have succeeded, such as Al-Tawfiqia Company, Anglo-American Nile, and the Egyptian United Joint Stock Company for Nile Transport. During the nineteenth century, Egypt witnessed many Nile tourist trips, such as the trip of kings and princes during the opening of the Suez Canal, the trip of Amelia Edwards, and the trip of Ahmed Ihsan oglu. In the end, a viable Nile tourism trip program was proposed from Shubra Al-Kheima to Helwan, achieving green tourism standards in a sustainable manner.
