Examining the Role of Supply Chain Resilience in Enhancing Excellence in the Hotel Industry

Abstract

This study examines the role of supply chain resilience in achieving supply chain excellence within five-star hotels in Greater Cairo. A total of 450 questionnaires were disseminated electronically, with assurances of confidentiality and voluntary participation. Out of the distributed surveys, 403 were completed and returned, yielding a response rate of 89.5%, which significantly strengthens the study’s credibility. Using quantitative research design, data was collected from hotel professionals involved in supply chain management, procurement, and logistics. Structural equation modeling was employed to test the hypothesized relationships using Warp PLS. The findings reveal a significant positive relationship between supply chain resilience and supply chain excellence. The study contributes to the theoretical foundation of the resource-based view by demonstrating that resilience is a strategic capability that enhances competitive advantage. Practical implications suggest that hotel managers should integrate digital transformation, supplier diversification, and predictive analytics to strengthen resilience and improve supply chain performance. The research underscores the necessity of embedding resilience strategies to navigate uncertainties and maintain long-term sustainability in an increasingly dynamic market.
