The Impact of Investment Laws on the Investor's Decision in the Hotel Industry

Abstract

There is no doubt that tourism and hotel investment is one of the most important aspects of tourism development, which is dependent on the tourism sector in Egypt. So it was imperative for the tourist countries to create the necessary climate for investment in this vital sector in order to be able to accommodate as many tourists as possible. This research aims to identify the role of the state in creating the investment climate in general and the importance of legislation and laws that help in particular in order for the state to attract investors and investments to the tourism sector. The research was based on the analysis of 50 survey forms distributed to investors in Tourism and hotel sector in the Red Sea and North Coast regions. The analysis of the results revealed that there are many factors and variables that affect the decision making process of tourism investment. These factors include political stability, economic stability and the exchange rate stability which are considered the most important factors influencing tourism and hotel investment, as well as the legislation and regulatory environment.
