Outsourcing is widespread in a growing number of sectors and activities, especially those related to services and specialized knowledge. This research provides insights on the outsourced activities in hotels in Egypt, and which are the most and least outsourced activities in hotels. This research employed a quantitative method with a computer-administered questionnaire to survey 264 hotels management members from various dependent and chain three-, four-, and five-star hotels in Cairo Egypt. The data were processed using SPSS v.26 statistical program. The findings showed that hotels, particularly those classified as 4-star, tend to outsource a variety of non-core internal activities, such as security, landscaping, and IT/software services. This finding was supported by the significant differences observed in the outsourcing of internal activities between hotels managed by international chains and those owned by individuals. Specifically, international chain hotels showed a lower mean rank in outsourcing practices compared to independent owners. Regarding guest services, the study found that outsourcing is more common in hotels of different classifications, with no significant differences observed between 3-star, 4-star, and 5-star hotels.
